Arrive Stylish at Your Destination
How would you react if you were invited, out of the blue to be away for five nights? Would you be ready for an adventure?
So, what's going on in your head when you have accepted?
Do you, in your mind, pack your bag and order the foreign currency right away, or, are you stressing about the fact that you don't know what to pack?
Whatever you do, or think, I wonder if you arrive at your destination feeling and looking relaxed and stylish, or perhaps frazzled?
Either way, you will arrive at your destination, but unless you have a good system that will allow you to pack in haste, the prepared person will have the benefit of looking more in control and maybe even more stylish.
Whether you travel by car, train, bus or plane, it will help knowing what clothes and what bag to take when going away.
Picture the following:
It's late afternoon and you receive a phone call from your best friend, inviting you to join her for a long weekend at her aunt's apartment in Paris. You check your diary and note that nothing is stopping you from leaving right away, apart from the fact that you haven't packed.
As you open the doors to where your clothes are, you are kicking yourself wishing that you had a better system in place, a Bouquet Wardrobe instead of a jumble sale. There are far too much in there but nothing to wear. Or at least that's how you feel when looking at it. Rummaging through the rails you don't know what you will need so you pack everything that will fit into your suitcase, but stop yourself in your tracks. "Hang on, I'm only going for five nights!!!!" And I haven't even booked the tickets... now, where's my passport. Oh no, it has expired!
Here's the same initial picture, with a different outcome : It's late afternoon and you receive a phone call from your best friend, inviting you to join her for a long weekend at her aunt's apartment in Paris. You check your diary and note that nothing is stopping you from leaving right away, apart from the fact that you haven't packed.
As you open the doors to where your clothes are, you are excited to spend some time with your friend and know exactly what to pack. Your passport is up to date and your wardrobe is aligned with your personal image. The only thing you need to do is to quickly check the weather prognosis. A small chance of rain, but otherwise it will be sunny. Yay!
Adeptly, you chose items from your Boutique Wardrobe that you know will make you feel confident and be comfortable wearing. Apart from lingerie - a few different tops, a couple of skirts and a pair of trousers, the LBD, a blazer, a few different accessories, two extra pair of shoes, and my prescribed makeup as well as skin care regime... Every single item that's packed are truly 'you' - being a 'friend' and having a 'common thread' with each other.
For travelling, you opt for wearing something a little bit warmer than what the weather is predicted to be in Paris. You are prepared and can always take a layer off.
That's it, you are feeling relaxed and ready for another adventure.
As you grab hold of your purse containing your passport and smart phone, and hang it on your shoulder your other hand reaches for your small carry-on case.
You put your shades on and head for the airport.
Which of the two resonates with you?
